Gulab Jamun is a mouthwatering sweet. It’s famous all over in India and everyone loves to eat. It’s made from milk powder and soaked into sugar syrup.
Ingredients
For jamun
- 1 cup Milk mava powder or non fat milk powder
- 1-1/2 tbsp Ghee
- 3 tbsp Fine rava or Sooji
- 3 tbsp All purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Pistachios and raisins fine chopped
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Citric acid
- 1/4 cup Lukewarm milk approximately
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 2 cup Oil for deep frying
For Syrup
- 2 cup Sugar
- 3 cup Water
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder
- 5-6 Drops Rose essence
- 5-6 Drops lemon juice
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add milk mava powder, rava, all purpose flour, baking soda, citric acid, ghee and cardamom powder. Mix it well. Make gulab jamun dough using warm milk. Make dough by adding milk little by little and ensure the dough is soft. Cover it and keep it for 5 min. Now knead the dough very lightly and make a nice soft dough.
