There are variety of pulses (dal) available and green whole moong dal is very healthy. The recipe is prepared mainly using green moong dal and fried with spices.This recipe tastes really good compared to conventional yellow dal, however you can’t have it everyday.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup whole green moong dal soaked into water overnight
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1 medium size Onion fine chopped
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 Green chili chopped
- 5 cloves Garlic fine chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger fine chopped
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (hing)
- 6-7 Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 Tomatoes fine chopped
- 1/2 tsp Gram masala powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander & cumin powder each
- 1/3 cup Fresh chopped coriander leaves
