  1. Ingredients for yam & pineapple shashlik.
  2. Peel the purple yam and wash it with water.
  3. Cut the purple yam into cubes.
  4. Boil the yam in water for 5-6 minutes till yam gets slightly soft. Make sure it is not overcooked.
  5. Once it’s done, switch off the heat and drain the water from the yam.
  6. Take boiled yam in a mixing bowl, add little salt and chaat masala. Mix very well and keep it aside for 5 minutes.
  7. Heat grill pan at medium heat. Once it is hot, sprinkle some oil onto it. Throw marinated yam into the hot griddle.
  8. Grill it from all the sides until yam gets roasted and has a golden color from all sides. Once it’s done, turn off the heat. Remove the grilled yam into a plate. Keep it aside.
  9. In mixing bowl, add hung curd, turmeric powder, 1 tbsp oil, roasted gram flour, chaat masala, kashmiri red chili, tikka masala and salt to taste. Mix all ingredients very well.
  10. Add cut bell peppers, onion and pineapple to marination masala.
  11. Mix all ingredients very well. Cover it and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  12. In a skewer arrange the yam, pineapple, onion and bell peppers in a balanced manner.
  13. Heat a grill pan at medium heat, once it’s hot, sprinkle 2 tsp oil on grill pan. Place the shashlik into the hot griddle.
  14. Grill it until golden color from all sides for about 10 to 12 minutes. Arrange the cherry tomato inside and grill it for 1 more minute.
  15. Hot purple yam & pineapple shashlik are ready to be served.
