Frankie or kati roll is a popular delicious street food in India. The Frankie could be prepared either vegetarian or non- vegetarian by just adding grilled meat either chicken or fish. This recipe is prepared using grilled/tandoori salmon fish with roasted bell peppers, onions, green lettuce and flavored with yogurt mint chutney. The outer layer used is carrot round paratha/chapati. This is really a great travel food which you can prepare and carry with you on your travel. Kids love this dish on the go and it’s very easy to serve when rolled in aluminium foil. You can always experiment with your own veggies.
Ingredients
For Chapatis
- 1-1/2 cup Wheat flour
- 1 medium Carrot fine grated
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1/4 tsp Carom seeds (ajwain)
- Some oil for making chapatis
For Frankie roll
- 2 big pices Tandoori Salmon fish see tandoori salmon recipe below
- 1 Red bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 Green bell Pepper thinly sliced
- 1/8 tsp Black pepper powder
- Pinch of Salt
- 1/8 tsp Kasmiri red chili powder
- 1 medium Onion thinly sliced
- 1 cup lettuce leave chopped
- 1/3 cup Curd (yogurt) mint & coriander chutney
- 2 tsp Oil
- Aluminium Foil to roll

- To make Frankie roll, take aluminium foil about half of the size of chapati in rectangular shape. Place a chapati on the foil so that half portion is on foil and half outside. Place some lettuce, onions, tandoori salmon, some roasted bell peppers and pour 1 tbsp yogurt mint chutney at the center of the chapati.
