Sambar is one of the main south Indian dish and goes well with Idli, Vada, Rice, and Dosa. This recipe is made of mixed vegetables, daal and spiced with samber masala. It’s very tasty and healthy. There are different kinds of Sambar made in different part of south India. This simple dish is easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Tur dal cooked
- 1/2 cup Spinach finely chopped
- 5 Drumstick small pieces
- 1/3 cup Radish Finely chopped
- 1/3 cup Red pumpkin finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Zucchini finely chopped
- 1/3 cup Carrot finely chopped
- 1/3 cup Bottle gourd finely chopped
- 2 florets Cauliflower
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp Black mustard seeds
- 2 Whole red chili
- 7-8 Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (hing)
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Jaggery
- 2 tsp Fresh Grated Coconut
- 1 tbsp sambar powder
- 1 tsp Tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Oil
