Shrikhand is a sweet dessert made with thick yogurt (curd) which is very famous in Maharashtra and Gujarat. As such making Shrikhand is very easy however processing yogurt is little time consuming. This recipe is in two flavor, mango and pista, you can tune the recipe to your taste. It’s tastes awesome when serve chilled.
Ingredients
- 500g Hung curd
- 1 cup Mango pulp
- 3/4 cup Powder sugar or as per your taste
- 3 tbsp Pistachios fine chopped
- 1 tsp Green cardamom crushed
- 1/8 tsp Nutmeg powder
- Pinch of saffron
Instructions
- Ingredients for Shrikand. To make hung curd, take 8 cups of full fat yogurt in a muslin cloth, tie it and hang it for about 2-3 hours until water stops draining from it. Place a clean kitchen towel on kitchen counter, add a layer of tissue paper on the same then place the hung curd along with muslin cloth, wrap the curd with the kitchen towel and store in the fridge for 2-3 hours.
