Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and keeps you energetic the whole day. Kala Chana Fry aka Ghugni/ghughuni is a very popular breakfast item in Bihar. Its a very simple recipe prepared by stir frying boiled kala chana with onion and light spices.This dish is tasteful as well as healthy. It also goes very well with tea or coffee. Ingredients
- 1 cup Black chickpeas( kala chana) soaked into water for overnight
- 3 cup Onion chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 3-4 Fine chopped green chilies
- 1 tsp Chaat masala powder
- Some coriander leaves for graneshing
Instructions
- Clean one cup kala chana with water two to three times, and soak it in water for overnight. Before preparation drain all water and boil it in a pressure cooker along with 3 cups of water and salt for 3-4 whistles at medium to high heat. Once it's done, let it cool naturally. Drain all the water and keep the chana aside.
