Tres Leches is a Mexican cake. It is normally made with vanilla sponge cake soaked in three types of milk and topped with fresh whipping cream. The Egg-less Tres Leches Marble cake is a small variant, which includes chocolate, and egg-less vanilla cake soaked in the same three types of milk. It’s easy to prepare at home and tastes heavenly delicious.
Ingredients
For Cake
- 1-3/4 cup Cake flour or All purpose flour
- 3 tbsp Dark coca powder
- 400g Fat free condence milk
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1-1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1-1/3 cup club soda room temperature
- 100g Unsalted butter room temperature
For Whipping Cream
- 1-1/2 cup Heaving whipping cream
- 1/4 cup Icing sugar
For Decoration
- 1/2 cup Semi sweet dark chocolate
Three milk mixture
- 1 14 ounce can Sweetened cadence milk fat free
- 1 can Evaporated milk fat free
- 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup Milk 2 percent
Instructions
- To make a good cake batter, do not add all the cake flour at the same time. Add about one third of flour at a time and blend to a smooth texture by adding club soda. Mixture should be of pour consistency. Take 1/2 cup cake batter in a another mixing bowl, add coca powder in to it and mix it very well by adding small amount of club soda in to it and make a same batter consistency.
- Preheat an oven at 350 degree F in bake mode. Grease 8'' round baking cake pan with butter so that it will hold the wax paper. Line the bottom of pan with round wax paper. Grease the wax paper with butter and dust with all purpose flour. Pour the white cake batter in greased pan, spread it all over then pour coca mix batter on it.
- Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter to give a marble effect. Bake the cake for 30 minute. To ensure that cake is baked properly, insert a toothpick at center and it should come out clean. If required bake it for some more time and keep checking. At most it should take about 45 minutes. Once it is done, Let the cake cool down, cover the cake and keep it in a fridge for 3 hrs.
- Spread icing cream on the top of the cake all around. Cover the cake and keep it in the fridge for 4-5 hrs. Save some icing cream for further decoration. Fill a large star tip pastry bag with cream and decorate by making starts on top of cake. Decorate the cake before serving. You can use your way of decoration.
