Dahi poori & papdi chaat is a popular street fast food all over India.There are variety of chaats which could be made from the same ingredients. These tempting tangy, crunchy, chatpata chaat are loved by every one and it’s really easy to prepare at home.
Ingredients
For Papdi
- 2 cup All purpose flour
- 3 tbsp Rava or Sooji
- 5 tbsp Butter or ghee
- 1/4 tsp Carom seeds
- 1/4 tsp Baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Lukewarm water for kneading
For Chaat
- 1/2 cup Garbanzo beans( chick peas ) boiled
- 1 big size Boiled potatoes Fine chopped
- 1 medium Onion Fine chopped
- 1/3 cup Moog dal sprout optional
- 1 cup Sweet curd (yogurt)
- 1 cup Chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup Tomato remove the seeds and chopped it fine
- 1/4 cup Coriander and mint chutney see my recipe for mint chutney
- 1/3 cup Tamarind & date chutney see my recipe for sweet chutney
- 1/3 cup Fine sev
- 2 tbsp Chaat masala powder see my recipe for chaat masala powder
- 2 tbap Dry roasted cumin & red chili powder
- 2 tsp Black salt
- 2 tsp Salt
- Some pani poori & papdi for making chaat
Instructions
- In a serving plate, place the papdi, on top add boiled mashed potato and boiled chick peas, some onion, add sweet curd. Sprinkle green chutney and sweet chutney on top of the chaat. Sprinkle chaat masala, black salt, salt, roasted cumin & chili powder on top. Garnish with coriander leaves. Dahi papdi chaat is ready to be served.
- To make dahi poori chaat. In a serving plate, place some poori (golgappa), create opening at the top and add boiled mashed potato and chick peas, sprinkle some onion, sweet curd, sweet chutney, chaat masala, black salt, salt, some moong dal sprout, roasted cumin & chili powder, some tomato and coriander leaves and serve.
