Carrot & beetroot kanji is a fermented tangy & refreshing drink. Generally this drink is made of with dark purple carrots or red carrots which is available in specific season however it can also be made with any variety of carrots along with red beetroot which gives the color and it’s healthy too.
Ingredients
- 2 medium size Red carrots cut into long 2 inch thin pieces
- 1/2 Red beetroot cut into long 2 inch thin pieces
- 1/2 inches Ginger
- 1 tbsp Mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp Black salt
- 1/2 tsp Hot red chili as per your taste
- Salt to taste
- 4 Glass Water
Instructions
- In a sauce pan, take 4 glasses of water, let it boil once it start boiling, turn off the heat and let it cool completely. Add the water in a glass jar, then add chopped carrots, beetroot, salt, black salt, mustard powder and chili in to it. Mix it well. Keep the glass jar in sunlight for 3-4 days and stir it daily with wooden spoon. Taste it a bit and it will get sour taste, that means it's ready. Keep it in the refrigerator.
