Oven Roasted Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori chicken aka chicken kabab is one of the popular non-veg appetizer which everybody loves. It is a starter recipe, prepared with chicken and mix of spices. The chicken is marinated with special Indian spices and grilled into clay tandoor to prepare tandoori chicken. Grilled chicken in clay tandoor or on coal grill gives a nice aroma and smoky taste to the chicken. You can also grill it in conventional oven though it won’t have the same flavor. The grilling is very easy however a planning is required as you need to marinate the chicken either overnight or at least for 6 to 7 hours. Plan ahead if you want to enjoy your weekend with this grilled chicken.

Triangle Namkeen

Triangle namkeen is one of the popular snacks in Northern part of India. Generally it is prepared during festival like Holi or Diwali. This crispy and crunchy snack is made with all purpose flour, rava, ghee, spices and deep fried in oil. This is a very nice complement with tea or coffee. It is super easy to make and can be stored in a air tight container for 2 to 3 weeks. Namkeen is super hit in my family and I am sure you and your family would also love it 🙂

Orange Cake

Cake is a delicious dessert which everyone loves. All of us love to celebrate our special occasions with cakes whether its birthday or anniversary or some other special occasions. Baking cake at home is super easy though it is very important to have right ingredients measurements, right batter mix and perfect baking time. Paniyaram

Paniyaram is a south Indian recipe and mainly prepared using idli batter. In this recipe I have added carrot, spinach and some spices which gives nice color and taste to paniyaram. You would need a Paniyaram pan to prepare this recipe. It’s a breakfast item and brings a variety in your breakfast. This tiny lentil and rice colorful balls can pack for your kids lunch boxes.

Baingan Bharta

Baingan (eggplant) Bharta  recipe is prepared using roasted baingan. There are many dishes you can be prepare using baingan, like a baingan bhaja, pakodas, sabji or so on. Roasting baigan on coal based furnace gives a nice smoky flavor and tastes delicious. In this recipe, baingan has been roasted on coil based electric stove. You can also roast on a gas stove. This is mainly a Punjabi dish and very popular in Northern part of India. This goes very well with Bihari dish litti and also goes very well as side with paratha, rice and daal. 

Carrot( Gajar) Halva

Carrot (Gajar) Halva is one of the popular dessert prepared with milk, mava and carrots. This recipe is generally prepared using a dark red carrot which is available in India and it gives a beautiful color to the dish. I could not find the same carrot in US so used regular carrots. You could add little bit of beetroot to get a darker shade. It is a rich recipe and teases your taste buds if you are health freak. Occasionally its good to give a treat to yourself. Kids love this sweet.
