Dum Aloo

Aloo (Potato) is king of the vegetables. It can be used to prepare variety of dishes like curries, Paratha, fried vegetable, snacks items like aloo tikki, samosa and so on. Tasty dum aloo is a very popular North Indian dish. Dum Aloo is a very simple gravy based dish made using very less ingredients basically boiled baby potatoes which is cooked in tomato gravy and spices. My mom always added freshly grounded garam masala which gives a wonderful aroma and taste to the dum aloo. There are many way to prepare dum aloo, different ingredients gives different taste to it. This recipe is tomato base curry but you can also make it yogurt base dum aloo. We all prefer to eat green vegetables however some time making potato curry gives a little twist to daily routine specially during summer when limited green vegetables are available. Dum aloo goes well with jeera rice, roti, Paratha or poori.

Non-Fried Veg Tofu Manchurian Dry

Vegetable Tofu Manchurian is an Indo-Chinese dish. It is a very flavorful, tangy and sweet & sour dish which everyone loves. Generally Manchurian balls are deep fried however this recipe tries a roasted Manchurian ball which gives exactly the same flavor and texture. The grated vegetables, bell peppers and tofu tiny balls, flavored with ginger-garlic and coated with varieties of sauce makes it delightful recipe. I have used Appam pan to roast the vegetable tofu balls however if you don’t have Appam pan you can either use any pan to roast for even bake it in oven. Similar to other Manchurian recipe this can either dry Manchurian or with gravy. Gravy Manchurian goes very well with Chinese fried rice or just plain rice. Chole Masala

Chole masala is a yummy Punjabi dish which is famous all over India. There are many ways to make chole masala. This recipe is closer to the Punjabi style chole masala. The beans used for this recipe are also known as kabuli/garbanzo beans. To get the dark color of the recipe, the beans are boiled along with the tea bag; which also gives a unique flavor. This delicious dish goes very well with bhatura, poori, roti, parathas or naan, as well as rice too. Chole masala is a easy recipe and loved by all.

One can eat this as a side with chicken or vegetable stew. I have given a little twist to the recipe by adding some spices to make it a little tangy and tasteful. This recipe is a vegetarian recipe and you can use your favorite vegetables as well. The dish is very nutritious and can be prepared in short time.

Chicken tikka masala is one of the most popular non-veg dish. You can find this yummy dish in every Indian restaurant. Grilled chicken cooked in thick creamy gravy and a combination of spices makes it very delicious. Chicken tikka masala goes very well with jeera rice, parata or garlic naan.
