Kesari & Beetroot Phirni
Phirni is a delicious dessert made in north India. It is made using coarse ground rice, sugar and milk and is flavored with cardamom, saffron and rose essence. Phirni is very similar to kheer but tastes different then kheer. This dessert made during festivals. This recipe makes two different flavors one with beetroot and another one with Kesar (saffron). Beetroot gives a nice color and unique taste to phirni and makes it more inviting.

Bhindi also known okra /ladyfinger, can be used to make many dishes such as bhindi masala, bhindi fry, pakora and so on. Stuffed okra is a chatpata tangy side dish which goes very well with rice-daal, roti and gravy curry. This vegetable is an all time favorite for my kids. Homemade curd is very easy to make and tastes awesome as well. Traditionally in villages it used to be made in clay pots and the taste of that used to be fresh with a nice aroma. Making curd at home is a simple procedure. In summer its made easily but in winter sometimes curd won’t come out good because of the cold temperature. You can find clay pots in Indian grocery stores. Litti (also called as bhouri in eastern India) & chokha is very popular and traditional dish from Bihar and Jharkhand. Traditionally litti is made on heat from coal or goyetha. Traditional food always give satisfaction to our taste buds. Litti is made with wheat flour and a filling prepared using sattu and some spices. This is very tasty and healthy dish. It can be made either by Frying or baking. It goes very well with baigan bhartha or potato and tomato chokha or simply with curd.
Stuffed Gobhi Paratha
Stuffed Gobhi Paratha is a delicious Indian bread prepared by stuffing spicy cauliflower mix in wheat flour dough and cooking it on a iron tava. The stuffed parathas are generally heavy and go well with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Serve it with curd or pickle and it tastes awesome.
